Simple and Chic

Often times I find myself reflecting on my style. Over the years it has changed (I am so thankful) and I think its safe to say I have found my happy place. Simple and Chic
When it came time to redo my room last year, there were so many vibes going through my head. I could do boho chic or a rock grunge inspired room but looking back they wouldn't have felt right. When it comes to my own personal style, I like to have my room reflect the life I wish to lead. When you wake up every morning in that space, it plays an impact on your mood.
If living in NYC has taught me one thing, it taught me that simplicity is key.
In a world filled with so much chaos, it is easy to get lost in the midst of it all and having a decluttered space is the best way to relax your mind and use the space for what it is intended: sleep.
COLOR DESIGN
When it was time to decide a pallet, I wanted something light and breezy that would let me feel like I was somewhere along the French Canal breathing in the fresh scent of lavender in the morning. But i also wanted to be able to change my room with the holidays to give myself a space to be creative and adjust as I please. This decision led me to a neutral landscape that became my canvas.
This is where it all began, a space that not only felt cozy, but allowed me to let go of the stress of the day while still holding on to my personality.
And believe me, personality is important. When it comes to your room, it is still important to personalize the details.
I often use the term 'hotel-scaping' when referring to the lack of individuality in a space. I don't know about you, but I struggle to sleep my first night in a hotel because I know that space is not me and my element. This is why I find using little accents to spice things up as a neat way to incorporate your style into a basic template.
SEASONS CHANGE
Now, when it comes to the seasons, I like to add a bit of color and follow a festive path, yet still remaining uniform. When it comes to accents, it's important to remember to replace items you already have out in order to stop the clutter from becoming overwhelming.
As you can see above, I utilize the same structure in all of my designs. Something as simple as changing some linens, adding little figurines and following simplicity is key, really changes up a space. I hope to continue making these changes through out the seasons and embracing the beautiful life we live.
